Peitav Shul — Riga Synagogue has prepared beautiful calendars for all members of the congregation for the year 5782 (2021-2022)!
This year we have dedicated the calendar to the memory of the great Jewish rabbis who were born or worked in Latvia. Their names are forever inscribed in the history of Jewish thought. We offer brief information about the rabbis in Russian, English and Latvian.
The Jewish calendar, which is used to date Jewish holidays, is not the same as the Gregorian calendar, which is now accepted in most countries.
Our calendar will help you to prepare in advance and not to miss Jewish holidays such as Rosh Hashanah, Sukkot, Yom Kippur, Hanukkah and others. Also in the calendar are noted actual Riga times of the beginning and the end of all Shabbat days, holidays, and names of weekly chapters of the Torah.
