The Riga Jewish Community and JCC Riga, in partnership with the Harold Grinspoon Foundation and with support from the Koum Family Foundation, are successfully implementing the PJ Library programme in Latvia. Almost all subscribers have already received their books for October ?

Younger children aged 2-3 received the book “Эй, а что такое Зиз?” in the author’s poetic translation by Marina Boroditskaya. This is a kind tale about a big bird with its head to the sky, whose wings outshine the sun.

For children aged 4-5, PJ Library presented the book “Мешка-ворчунья”, translated by Olga Varshaver. She grumbles from morning till night! Did you know that such grumblers are called “kvetch” in Yiddish?

For older children aged 6-8, we prepared the story “Врата Никанора” about a rich merchant whose ships plied the Mediterranean Sea and how he carried the most beautiful gates for the Jerusalem Temple.

We remind you, that any Jewish family from Latvia with children from 2 to 8 years old can subscribe and receive monthly Jewish books of “Pajama Library” in Russian for free! The number of subscribers is limited, hurry up: https://bit.ly/PJlibraryLV.

On the books which are sent in frames of the program, there are also online lessons. Stay tuned, we will invite you very soon and tell you more!
